The Mixson neighborhood is home to a diverse assortment of trees, shrubs, grasses, perennials, and more.

Thanks to the scale of the plant diversity throughout Mixson’s many parks and green spaces, the Mixson neighborhood has been certified as a Level 1 Arboretum – a designation which will help to protect the green spaces and parks for future generations as well as to facilitate their ongoing use, upkeep, and improvement.

Mixson Assembly ArbNet Certificate of Accreditation

As part of the accreditation process, the Mixson Assembly Board President, Trever Etminan, catalogued all current species of trees, shrubs, and plants located in neighborhood parks and green spaces. A PDF of that plant catalogue can be downloaded here:

To supplement the catalogue, there is also an interactive Google Map of all parks and trees located within the Mixson Arboretum!

The Arboretum will continue to grow and enhance its catalogue, as well as add additional features to parks as funds become available. Updates will be posted here and on the community blog.

Fun and educational events will also be hosted by the Arboretum throughout the year. If you have topics you’d like to learn more about, or if you are interested in getting involved, please contact the board!
